Why I like it: Although Coonawarra has built an international reputation for cabernet, it was shiraz that was the backbone of the region early on and as such some of the oldest vineyards in the area are planted to shiraz. This wine draws on some of these very old vineyards, including the Undoolya vineyard which was planted in 1894. Superb example of cool climate shiraz- powerful, yet elegant. Fruit driven, yet well balanced. Just a wonderful wine
