The picturesque Yarra Valley is home to Coldstream Hills, founded by James Halliday – wine writer, wine maker and all-round wine icon. With sweeping views of the Yarra Valley, headlined by the impossibly steep amphitheatre Pinot Noir vineyard, Coldstream Hills is a showcase of the quality of wines produced from the region.

James Halliday chose this site as he aspired to make the best Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in Australia. Thirty years on, awards and sold-out vintages indicate he made the right decision.

Saltram

Barossa Valley, South Australia 

No history of the Australian wine industry is complete without the mention of Saltram. Established in 1859 by William Salter, this famed Barossa winery has been the nursery to some of Australia’s greatest winemakers for generations, such as Peter Lehmann and Nigel Dolan.

Wolf Blass
