Why I like it: Wolf Blass Black label was first made from the 1973 vintage. It won the coveted Jimmy Watson Trophy in 1974 and since then, every vintage of this wine has won at least one Gold Medal. The 2014 was sourced from the Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and Langhorne Creek and like most years, it is predominately cabernet sauvignon [51%] with he balance being shiraz [44%] and malbec [5%]. With ten years already in the Wolf Blass winemaking museum, this wine will continue to mellow and develop further, with a drinking window until 2040.
